Events Four events including a men’s team event, a men’s individual event, a women’s team event and a women’s individual event. Number of Athletes There are 160 athletes in total, including 80 men and 80 women playing for 40 teams from 30 countries. Medals The top three competition teams will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. The top four athletes of each individual event will be awarded a gold medal, a silver medal and two bronze medals respectively. Venue & Schedule The 3x3 Basketball events of Second Youth Olympic Games will be held in the Basketball Arena of the Wutaishan Sports Centre from 18 to 26 August, 2014. Eligibility Only NOCs with a minimum of 3 FIBA-endorsed events held in their territory in the 12 months prior to 1 June 2014 are eligible. NOC earn ranking points for the 3x3 Federation Ranking by holding or supporting FIBA-endorsed events. Qualification Eligible NOCs qualify as follows : • Host country: CHN • Three medalists from the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships: Women: USA EST ESP Men: ARG FRA RUS • Countries of the top three teams from the 2013 FIBA 3x3 World Tour: SLO VEN ROU The other 13 participants earn their spot through their position in the FIBA 3x3 Federation Ranking, subject to three restrictions: i. A minimum of 30 NOC must participate (men and women combined). ii. A maximum of 10 teams can come from the same FIBA Zone in each gender. iii. A minimum of one team per FIBA Zone in each gender.
