Resource The Michigan Team Nutrition Booklist contains the annotations for over 300 books about food, healthy eating, and physical activity for children in pre-school through third grade. If youre reading this introduction, chances are youre probably interested in nutrition, physical activity, reading or a combination of all three. Thats great. Teaching children to read, teaching children how to choose and eat healthy foods, and teaching children to have fun being physically active are very important jobs. Thanks for your commitment! Nutrition educators can use the books on the Michigan Team Nutrition Booklist to · Introduce children to the Food Guide Pyramid and the Physical Activity Pyramid; · Create enthusiasm for learning about and tasting new foods; · Teach children about the food, food customs, and physical activity habits of others around the world; · Motivate children to be physically active and to enjoy physical activity; · Integrate nutrition and physical activity education into core subjects including reading/lan- guage arts, social studies, math, and science.
