NEWARK, DEL. (May 10, 2017) – Food Bank of Delaware has been selected by the Bahama Breeze in
Newark to receive a $10,000 grant from the Darden Foundation, the charitable arm of the restaurant’s
                              parent company, Darden Restaurants.

The donation will support the Food Bank of Delaware’s goals to alleviate hunger for the more than
114,000 food insecure Delawareans. For every dollar donated, the Food Bank can provide two meals to
                              households in need.

“This $10,000 grant will do a lot of good in the community,” said Food Bank of Delaware President and
CEO Paricia Beebe. “On behalf of our organization and those we serve, we greatly appreciate how the
Newark Bahama Breeze and the Darden Foundation worked to make this possible. Thanks to this
generous donation, we will be able to provide 20,000 meals to families in need.”

Nationally, all 36 Bahama Breeze locations recently participated in a sales competition to determine
which nonprofits would receive $10,000 grants. The top location in each of the restaurant’s five regions
were able to select a benefiting nonprofit, making for a combined donation of $50,000.

“At Bahama Breeze, we’re passionate about helping our local communities thrive,” said Michael Link,
general manager of the Newark location. “Our team members are proud to help Food Bank of Delaware
