                                                      2022-2023 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM OVERVIEW 
          To further our mission to support children in need as well as brave and heroic individuals and their families who have sacrificed 
          while protecting our freedom, TowerCares is proud to present our scholarship program for the 2022-2023 academic year. 
           
          What are the details of the scholarship?  
               •    Up to 15 scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded. 
               •    The scholarships must be used for tuition and tuition-related expenses at accredited institutions and are made payable to 
                    the college or university. 
           
          Who is eligible to apply? 
          Applicants to the TowerCares Foundation Scholarship Program must meet the following eligibility requirements: 
               •    High school senior or college freshman (first year), sophomore (second year) or junior (third year) 
               •    Current or planned degree enrollment in STEM major (science, technology, engineering and math) or foreign language 
                    linguistics 
               •    Current or planned full-time attendance at an accredited U.S. two- or four-year college or university 
               •    Must be a U.S. Citizen and reside in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania or Virginia 
               •    Past winners are not eligible for additional scholarships 
               •    TowerCares Foundation and Tower Federal Credit Union employees, board members, committee members, and their 
                    immediate family members are ineligible 
           
          What are the selection criteria?  
          An independent selection committee will evaluate the complete applications and select recipients considering: 
               •    Scholarship recipients are selected based on consideration of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and 
                    participation in school and community activities, work experience, and a statement of career and educational goals and 
                    objectives 
               •    Additional consideration will be given to children/dependents of Active Duty Military and Veterans from all branches of the 
                    Armed Forces, including Reserve and Guard units 
               •    Selection of recipients is made by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc.; in no instance does any officer or 
                    employee of TowerCares Foundation play a part in the selection.  All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. 
           
          What is the Program timeline?  
               •    Application Open:  April 4, 2022 
               •    Application Deadline: May 16, 2022 
               •    Scholarship Recipients Notified: by June 21, 2022 
               •    Scholarship Checks Issued: by early August 2022  
           
          Program Administration and Selection Process 
          To ensure complete impartiality in selection of recipients and to maintain a high level of professionalism, the program is 
          administered by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc., a firm that specializes in managing sponsored scholarship 
          programs. TowerCares Foundation has contracted with International Scholarship and Tuition Services to assess all applications in 
          accordance with TowerCares’ selection criteria and recommend the recipients to TowerCares for final approval.  
           
          What are the responsibilities of scholarship recipients?  
          Recipients must enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in the fall of the year in which the scholarships are awarded, continue 
          the entire academic year without interruption, sign an agreement that they are a STEM or linguistics major and that funds will be 
          used for tuition and tuition-related expenses.
