      GENERAL TEACHER’S GUIDE
      Dear Teacher
Quantitate Aptitude is a subject that tests the mental ability of pupils to interpret Patterns, Shapes, Figures,
Letters and Codes and how critically they can think in applying these in their everyday activities.
This piece of work is prepared by the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) for the primary school pupils
of class 6. The notes are useful for learners who will be attempting the National Primary School
Examination (NPSE) and the aim is to improve learning achievement for weak or underperforming
      schools at the NPSE nationwide.
The syllabus has been broken down into a total of thirty (30) units in this booklet and every unit is preceded
by a Teacher’s Guide which clearly explains the techniques used in the samples/examples in the given
      content.
As a teacher of this subject, you are required to:
 Be very practical in explaining the examples, making sure every pupil actively involved in the
         activities.

 Make sure that the samples/examples are clearly explained to the pupils by using the “Think Tank”
method i.e., allow pupils to make their own contribution.

 Pursue the exercises and self-assessments provided in every unit, to see how adequately learners
are able to understand every activity taught.

 Use Teaching Aids such as Charts, Diagrams, Drawings and other local materials that may be
necessary to facilitate the teaching and learning process.

Thank you so much for carefully following this guide.
