                                        Journal ranking of emlyon business school 
                  
                 This journal ranking has been developed by the Scientific Committee of emlyon 
                 business school, based on existing journal rankings, impact factors, the opinions of 
                 external experts and a direct examination of the journals (editorial board, reputation, 
                 research impact). The objective of the journal ranking is to help our faculty in its 
                 publication strategy, and to support our effort in improving the quality of our 
                 publications. 
                  
                 The ranking reflects the scientific strategy of emlyon business school. It includes a 
                 comprehensive number of journals in business and economics, as well as journals in 
                 other disciplines (law, psychology, sociology, mathematics) that contribute to our 
                 strategic positioning. Other means of communication and diffusion of academic 
                 knowledge (e.g., books, book chapters, scientific reports) are also important in the 
                 scientific production of emlyon business school. 
                  
                 The journal ranking includes 761 journals in five categories: 
                  
                        31 A+ journals. A selected number of scientific journals that are unanimously 
                         recognized as the best in their discipline.  
                        96 A journals. Excellent journals that are close in quality to the best in their 
                         discipline. They often are generalist journals, with a long academic tradition, a 
                         substantial academic impact and an excellent editorial board. 
                        118 B+ journals. Journals of good very quality, renown internationally, but not 
                         at the same level as the best journals in their discipline. This category includes 
                         both generalist and specialized journals, as well as some French journal with 
                         international readership. 
                        258 B journals. Journals that have a acceptable quality but low impact, 
                         because of their high specificity or limited geographic diffusion. 
                       258 C journals. Journals with limited academic impact, international diffusion 
                         and academic reputation.
